Just thinking about 2010 reminds me how time goes by so fast. With all the challenges, all the wins and losses, I can’t help but feel excited for what 2011 has in store. I know it’s cliche, but that’s probably because it’s true and many can relate to those words. I was browsing through my website homepage photos and decided to make a quick slideshow of some of my favorite photos from 2010, plus a few favorites from the past. I want to thank all my wonderful and amazing clients from this year and years past! C’mon 2011, I’m ready for ya!

This has got to be one of our coolest engagement sessions. Everything from the VW Bug car to the “Exorcist” stairs in Georgetown, Erin & Noah got some great shots of Alison & Dustin. Alison’s already stunning, I can only imagine how beautiful she will be on her wedding day!

Man I look really tired in this vid, probably because it was late when I filmed it on my webcam!

“Fun” is an understatement when it comes to describing Tiff & Mike’s E-session! Just look at how nutty these two are, especially when you check out the slideshow! First order of business was to throw them onto the carousel. Both Mike & I couldn’t wait til the ride was over because we were feeling a little… dizzy, haha! But the ride didn’t seem to phase Tiff! I also managed to capture some airtime of both of them jumping in the air as you’ll see in the slideshow. I’ve gotten to know these two better over the last several months and the wedding will be nothing short of fabulous! All kidding aside, you can tell these two are so in love and really into each other. Enjoy the slideshow and some favorite pics…

An interesting and not-so-typical shot, but I loved the “lines” of the power “lines” =)

OH WAIT!

Some of you haven’t seen me in a while so here I am! I just got my haircut, ya like it? Nothing new, just was getting long and needed some reshaping and cutting. Not the greatest photo, but it’s ME! Yes, you can probably tell that I took the photo using the bathroom mirrors and my left arm is holding the camera out of frame. Hey, it was just a quickie! =)

Okay, on to what you’re really here for… some photos! Nothing better than warm light from the low sun late in the day enjoying the sand and ocean. That’s what the DiCocco family did and I was happy to be there to capture some fun and poignant moments of my extended family. I am actually Dave & Karen DiCocco’s uncle. How you may ask? My wife Denise is Dave’s aunt, one of her older brothers is Dave’s father. Just wanted to clear up why there’s really NO family resemblance between me & Dave, haha!

I decided to blog about yesterday’s wedding because I’m just in awe of mother nature’s timing… in a good way! Saturday was one of the wettest wedding days I’ve shot. Now I wasn’t so concerned with our photography capabilities, especially with super talented Kristen Leigh by my side. I was more concerned with my couple. I knew how important this day was to Jenn & Jeff and what the photographs mean to them. They were confident that I can pull it off in any weather, but they prefer the low and directional sunlight like me! Event coordinator Muffin Padukiewicz really made the event move along seamlessly. She did fabulous! The grounds of Historic St. Mary’s City is beautiful! Flowers were provided by Dickson’s Fields of Flowers.

With the relentless & thunderous skies pouring rain all afternoon, the 6pm ceremony looked like it may be washed out….

Kristen & I focused on the job. The ladies were getting ready inside the State House of the beautiful Historic St. Mary’s City, MD.
We used available light to get these rockin’ dress & details shots.
Kristen did a sweet job with the center and right side photo.

Jennifer looked amazing!

Not only do I get to shoot beautiful brides, I get to work with pretty ladies too!

I had the wet hair look from all the humidity going on here, ha!
Not only did Kristen second shoot, she grabbed my laptop & made the live reception slideshow for me. Thanks Kristen!

While I was working with the ladies, Kristen captured this wonderful image of Jeff and guys. Pretty cool I must say.

Divine intervention? Perhaps! Literally minutes before the ceremony was to begin, the storms began to give way to sunlight!
And can you guess who was happy about that?

Ah the time has come to head downstairs

Jennifer’s daughter Brooke LOVES the camera, and you can see why. She’s just so beautiful! Some of you might remember her from a previous post. One of Jennifer & Brooke’s photos ranked 4th in the Open Source Photo Contest in the Family Time category

Thank you mother nature! The sun’s directional light was just tasty!

Even though the rain had stopped, lightning was never far away.
I managed to capture some of it in the distance. Cool huh?

One of my personal favorites of the day.
I’m so glad the replica square-rigged ship Maryland Dove was still there.

Denise & I really enjoyed working with Kristen. She’s got her own growing photography business and I see much success in her future. Don’t let her young age of 18 and goofball personality fool you, ha! She’s just awesome and fun to be around. We can’t wait to hang out with her again.

I’m so glad I had some time to blog about some divine intervention. What looked like a downer of a day weather-wise turned out to be fabulous wedding day!

I’m starting to catch up on some blogging! I don’t think I’ll be able to blog everything I’m working on though, but I HAD to share this because of the famous D.C. Cherry Blossoms!

The weather forecast was right! The Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom in DC the day I shot Michelle & Jared’s engagement session. EVERYONE must’ve heard the weather reports because even at 8am there were so many tourists, camera crews, Willard Scott from the Today Show, and photographers around the Tidal Basin, the FDR and Thomas Jefferson Memorials. Not to mention we walked past several engagement photo sessions as well – no joke! None of this deterred me from accomplishing my goal – to get fun, beautiful images of Michelle & Jared who are indeed a charming and good looking couple! Jared proposed to Michelle here, not far from the FDR Memorial side of the Basin, so it’s no surprise they wanted to come back to this special location. I’m so glad we got to spend time doing this. Get-to-know-you sessions really help break the ice between me and my couples, making the wedding day so much easier for photography. I look forward to seeing them again when I deliver their engagement guest book!

Now check out this fun little slideshow…you’ll notice I was a bit inspired by my old video days. I shot some multiple frame segments to get a sense of motion that I’m always looking for

I managed to sneak a shot of Willard workin’ it with some tourists, lol

Thank you Michelle & Jared for coming out early to avoid the crowds! Even though there were a lot of people, I cannot imagine what it’d be like in the afternoon! You guys did a fabulous job!

Believe it or not I’m actually falling behind in my blogging! But doing my best to catch up. I’ve got some posts in queue, but will likely try and take a break this weekend and spend it with my family, I’ve neglected them long enough this week, lol.

This year my blog will focus more on my personal stuff, reality TV style. But I’ll still share some of my photo sessions, weddings, and e-sessions to keep things moving forward

Kristie & Corey… where do I begin with these two? They are a fun, non-camera-shy couple that really got into their engagement photo op! I tend to attract clients that love photography, albums, and enjoy being in front of the camera

It was a blast capturing their charm and personality at North Beach, MD, not far from where Kristie grew up. They had their beautiful dogs with them as well to join the fun. We even stopped by Sweet Sue’s Bake Shop in North Beach where they are having 20+ cakes made for the wedding – in addition to their main wedding cake, each table will have their own “wedding” cake consisting of different flavors – yum!!

I’m actually going to meet up with them again in Corey’s home state of N. Carolina next month for a second e-session. This is in an effort to capture their love of the water and the places where they came from. Not to mention they’ve got a pretty big wedding album and guest book package so I wanna pack in as much material for me to use in the post-processing and album design phase for them.

Boy it was so windy yesterday in D.C., I think the weather report estimated up to 50mph winds!! Despite the gusts Katie, Nate & I had a heck of a time capturing some fun moments… hey even a windblown look can be hot!

Nate was lookin’ GQ and Katie was looking beautiful as always. I’ve known Katie since my days at Booz Allen Hamilton where I worked as a consultant.
