FIRST SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON | CANON 5D MARK II VIDEO | DC PHOTOGRAPHER

The first snowfall of the season was today! After the kids baked & ate some cookies I took them out to burn off some energy. The snow was coming down hard and the flakes looked nice and big… that could only mean one thing – camera time!

I used my Canon 5D Mark II SLR HD video feature to capture some wintry action. The camera functioned well in wet snowy conditions – no exterior protection was used. I did however go back inside twice to towel dry the camera and lens – I was using my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L lens. After about 30 minutes of shooting in the snow I knew it was time to dry everything off for good. A towel and a blow dryer did the trick. Everything still functions 100% =)

If you’re experiencing choppiness in the playback, let the video load first. The video is about a minute and a half so it shouldn’t take long.
