So for the last week Denise & I were scratching our heads wondering about those big concrete steps we photographed Reanna’s pedestal shots on in the Bahamas. It’s in an odd place on Atlantis Beach, clearly it was there before the Atlantis resort, but we just couldn’t figure out why and what purpose it served. Upon closer examination it looks to be some sort of breakwater and canal. Notice the big concrete structure in the background. The structure on the left are the big concrete stairs we used for the pedestal shots …

- Yep, right next to these steps were services for jetskis & parasailing… but I don’t think they launched anyone from those steps obviously =)
THEN it happened… the BOND FILM marathon was on TV this past Sunday, low & behold we saw James Bond himself in a swimming & beach scene and this exact location was in the film! Our clients Reanna & Jeremy were not kidding about Jeremy’s fascination with anything Bond! I mean, c’mon, their dinner rehearsal was at Cafe Martinique with a Bond groom cake!
Here’s the QUIZ: In what Bond film did the pedestal steps appear in?
The scene itself wasn’t that long. But if you paid attention, it should be recognizable. Visit these links in my blog for more photo clues!
Leave your answers in COMMENTS here in this blog post. SORRY Denise, Noah, Reanna & Jeremy, you can’t play because you already know the answer! Would love to see how many other Bond fans there are out there that follow my blog =)
UPDATE — ANSWER IS ….. THUNDERBALL! Way to go Ryan Yorde for answering correctly!
MANY BOND FILMS WERE FILMED ON-LOCATION IN THE CARIBBEAN, INCLUDING CASINO ROYALE W/ACTOR DANIEL CRAIG. CASINO ROYALE DID HAVE SCENES FILMED ON ATLANTIS RESORT PROPERTY AND THE ONE-AND-ONLY-CLUB PRIVATE RESORT. HOWEVER, THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION I’M REFERRING TO THAT USES THE CONCRETE STAIRS AND CANAL AND WAS NOT IN CASINO ROYALE. IT WAS FROM AN OLDER BOND FILM WITH SEAN CONNERY, 1965′s THUNDERBALL.
Visit this link, and scroll towards the bottom to see the scene in which the canal & stairs are the backdrop. It’s as if the canal hasn’t changed in over 40 years!
